Transitioning Into Fall - What's Trending in Hair Color?

As the seasons change so does everything else in our life. From the kind of coffee we drink, the clothes we wear, to our hair color. Fall brings cooler weather and darker tones. So what are your options for transitioning your summer hair to fall? Depending on how drastic you are wanting the change will determine the best option for you. Some options include a shadow root, adding lowlights, changing the tone of your color, and making a drastic darker change.
A shadow root  is a great option for someone wanting lower maintenance. It creates a darker area at the roots and blends down into the lighter hair on your ends. This allows the hair on the ends to remain lighter and brighter but doesn't require the commitment of having the roots touched up as often.

If a shadow root isn't your thing you could always try adding lowlights or changing the tone of your color. Lowlighting consists of adding darker pieces and creating dimension  to your hair. This can help make your hair color appear more natural looking and blend the appearance of new growth from the roots.

So what if you love your current color but just want a slight change? If that's the case, adjusting your tone may be the best option. When changing tones this means going from a cooler tone to a warmer tone or warmer to cool. So if you're an icy blonde you can adjust your tone to a warmer golden blonde. This requires little to no change to your current maintenance schedule but creates a whole new look.

For those of you who like to "go all out", you may opt for a complete color change. This can include being lighter in the warmer months and darker in the cooler months. When doing a drastic color change to darker, it's important to keep in mind that it may be a longer process to get you light again.

These are just a few options to help you adjust to the changing season. There are many factors to consider when changing your hair color and it's best to consult with your stylist to determine what will be the best option for you! Call us at 843-757-5762 and get your new look started!
